With the Quadratic Lab, pre-calculus students can experiment with the quadratic equation and understand related math concepts in a highly intuitive, visual and interactive lab setting. Its user interface is shown below:

Quadratic Lab is designed to implicitly and efficiently demonstrate concepts such as the relationship between the linear and parabolic nature of the quadratic equation. Within minutes students see how "b" changes slope and "a" changes the "dip". In addition, it intuitively shows how the coefficients alter the relationship between quantities such as those.

The lab manual that comes with Quadratic Lab explains the quadratic equation, why it is important, how it makes a graph, the controls, roots, the quadratic formula and a whole bunch more.

Students hear "a does this, and b does that" but when they see it happen and have control over the experimentation using in a very concise and well thought out user interface, constructed by experts in the field, then they begin to experiment on their own.

Students can use Quadratic Lab to prove their point to other students. Seeing is believing and when students can prove to other students what they know in a quick and fun way then learning becomes that much more enjoyable.

Quadratic lab also contains a bunch of advanced features such as root detection, queues to show intersection, floating and fixed graph limits and a set of questions designed to be answered while using the user interface controls. More curious students can send the graph to the powerful Vvidget Builder application to experiment with different graph layouts or to send a graph to someone else.
